Top event in the Lenzerheide vacation region Open-air play to mark the 500th anniversary of the Free State of the Three Leagues
The canton of Graubünden is celebrating its 500th birthday. On the wonderfully situated high plateau of Lantsch, near Vazerol, Origen will premiere a spectacular open-air theater that tells of the political turmoil of the Grisons valleys, of the European game of powers, of the birth of the Free State and of the far-reaching consequences of the alliance. A dramatic chess game carried by historical reminiscences, set in one of the most beautiful pass landscapes in Graubünden. The work reflects the past and challenges the future: freedom is a precious commodity that must be guarded and cared for. Even today. The dramatic journey through time by Giovanni Netzer takes place in a large, covered open-air theater in all weathers. On stage is a large ensemble consisting of amateurs and professionals. This combination of performers is an old Graubünden tradition and combines the natural spontaneity of the amateur actors with the experienced craftsmanship of the professionals.
